Clay Bodies is a sculptural photographic series exploring my ancestral relationship with earth, identity and belonging, beauty and the cyclical nature of life, death and rebirth.
The images from this series are printed on handmade clay tablets, 100% raw canvas and handwoven khadi cotton. Using natural fibers and traditional Mexican weaving techniques these fabric prints are created into textile hanging sculptures in collaboration with artisans from the yucatan & textile artist Beta astral. These pieces blend a variety of traditional Mexican weaving techniques, ceramics and explorative digital printing, merging ancient & future processes into a harmonized dialogue.
